I’ve been looking for the perfect purple lipstick for awhile, and after a long hunt through various Sephora’s, Illamasqua’s Kontrol won me over. Kontrol is a matte, cool blue-ish purple that is almost the exact shade of my hair when freshly dyed. I love it. I’ve never been more excited to buy something from Sephora. I was clutching my friend’s arm at the register… I get emotional over lipstick.
The next day I forgot to bring lipstick with me in my bag and it felt weird so I dragged my other friend into Sephora again and picked up Illamasqua’s Atomic after a swatchfest of various products. It also perfectly matches my hair…. heheheh.
The formulation for Illamasqua’s lipsticks aren’t smooth or creamy like YSL or what have you, but neither are they particularly drying. They last a long time — at least, it feels like it lasts longer than my fav CoverGirl lipsticks, though it doesn’t last as long as UD’s Super Saturated Lip Color. For Kontrol I have to reapply after eating or drinking because it’s a high maintenance color, but it doesn’t migrate on my lips and it’s exactly what I wanted. I’ll definitely purchase more lip colors from them, though it pains me to pay $22 for a single tube.
